Underground mining of coal deposits has a negative impact on all components of the environment. When developing a coal deposit, it is coal mining technology that determines the scale and consequences of the negative impact. Changes in the stress-strain state of the geo-environment can lead to a violation of the hydrological regime, increased gas emission from the host rocks, the initiation of gas-dynamic processes. Choice of roofing management technology - as a geotechnological method of natural and technical system management determines the environmental friendliness of coal mining and creates safety conditions. The article deals with the technology of roofing control during coal production. For this purpose mathematical modeling and analysis of stress-strain state of the bottomhole part of the coal bed for the conditions of S.M. Kirov is performed. As a result of modeling, two technologies of roof control were analyzed - complete caving and stowing. For the worked out clearing leaves filled with either caving rocks or stowing material, there are characteristic unloading zones in the massif to be worked and overworked, as well as pressure reference zones, which fall on the parts of the pillars associated with the lava. It was found out that the application of the stowing technology creates conditions for minimization of gravitational stresses in the geoenvironment, as well as significantly reduces the potential energy of form change.

The degree of influence has been determined of diversified deformation-strength characteristics of load-bearing elements in the fastening system of the preparatory mine workings, while maintaining them in a laminal massif of soft rocks. The analysis has been performed of multivariate computational experiments of the stress-strain state of the load-bearing elements of the fastening system in the preparatory mine workings from the position of the mutual influence of their deformation-strength characteristics and the support loading as a whole. An analysis is represented of the mutual influence of the operation modes of the mine working support elements between themselves and the fastening system as a whole; it has been studied the stress-strain state of the mine working fastening system with a central hydraulic prop stay, as well as a significant increase in reliability of the support performance has been analysed and determined. The tendency has been substantiated of minimizing the load on the mine working fastening system – increasing the coherence of the diversified operation modes of fastening elements by enhancing preferentially the yielding property of the rigid element. The application has been substantiated of the central yielding prop stays of the strengthening support of a frame in case of intensive rock pressure manifestation in the zone of the stope works active influence.

The Impact

The article assesses the impact of repeated blasts on the stress-strain state of the shotcreting support, which negatively affects the bearing capacity of the support and can lead to the formation of local rock falls in places of significant degradation of the shotcreting strength. Despite the fact that a single seismic load usually does not have a significant impact on the technical condition of the shotcreting support, repeated dynamic loading can lead to the development of negative processes and affect the safety. The article considers unreinforced and dispersed-reinforced shotcreting concrete as a shotcreting support. Models of deformation of rock and shotcreting support have been studied. To describe the deformation model of a rock mass, an elastic–plastic model based on the Hook-Brown plasticity condition has been accepted, which accurately describes the elastic-plastic behavior of a fractured medium. When performing the prediction of the stress-strain state of the shotcreting support, a model of plastic deformation of concrete with the accumulation of Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) was adopted, which allows to comprehensively consider the process of concrete deformation both under conditions of uniaxial compression and stress, and with minor edging draft. At the first calculation stage, a forecast of the seismic waves propagation in the immediate vicinity of the explosive initiation site was made. At the second stage, forecasts of the seismic waves propagation to the mine working and the stress-strain state of the support were made. On the basis of the performed studies, a methodology for assessing the impact of repeated blasts on the stress-strain state of the shotcreting support of the mine working is proposed.

In the process of numerical studies, the stress-strain state of the rock massif around the mine working driven at a depth of 600 m was determined. The article presents the analysis of the distribution of total vertical and horizontal stresses isolines in the working roof, as well as the ratio of the residual strength of rocks to the initial. The influence of the roof bolting on the displacement of working contour was established. Dangerous zones in the near-contour rocks of preparatory working were identified. The maximum exposure area of unsecured part of the roof during driving the workings in seam 3-3a was established.
