The fresh water fish Puntius ticto were exposed to lethal concentration of water soluble fraction (WSF) of petrol (5%-PF1, 10%-PF2, 15%-PF3, 20%-PF4 and 25%-PF5) for 96 hours. The exposure of WSF produced some conspicuous histopathological changes in liver. The swelling of hepatocytes, degeneration, necrosis, hemolysis, dilation, congestion and fibrosis in blood sinusoids were the prominent changes observed. The histological analysis showed increasing damages dose-dependents and time-dependents.

Fresh water fish, Tilapia mossambica (Peters), were exposed to various pH media. O2 consumption of the fish was suppressed in the pH media on either side of neutrality. Lethal limits of pH were determined to be pHs 3.7 and 10.3. Fish were acclimated to sublethal acidic pH (pH 4.0) and hepatic carbohydrate metabolism was studied on exposure and acclimation. The hepatic tissue of acclimated fish exhibited inhibited glycolysis with an onset of gluconeogenesis. In general, acclimation to acidic pH seems to result in the elevation of the synthetic phase of hepatic carbohydrate metabolism.

Fishes are very sensitive to a wide variety of toxicants in water, various species of fish show uptake and accumulation of many contaminants or toxicants such as pesticides. The fresh water fish, Cyprinus carpio was exposed to methoxychlor and the median lethal concentration was found to be 0.42 ppm. After sublethalexposure tissues such as gill, liver, kidney, muscle and brain were sacrificed and analysed for protein content.

Present paper deals with study of cestode parasites of genus Circumoncobothrium from fresh water fish Clarius batracus at Savitri river, (Dapoli) for the percentages of infection occurance during summer season, minimum during winter and tolarate during rainy season. The parasite mainly infected the intestine of host and fed on nutrients from digested food. It completed its life cycle in the intestine of host. By camparing different characters of it to identify that the species is new

The present investigation deals with the prevalence of infection of cestode, Pseudoinverta oraiensis19 parasitizing Clarias batrachus from Bundelkhand Region (U.P.) India. The studies were recorded from different sampling stations of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. For this study 360 fresh water fish, Clarias batrachus were examined. The incidence of infection, monsoon season (17.50%) followed by winter season (20.00%) whereas high in summer season (30.00%).
