Authentication protocol verification is a difficult problem. The problem of “state space explosion” has always been inevitable in the field of verification. Using inductive characteristics, we combine mathematical induction and model detection technology to solve the problem of “state space explosion” in verifying the OSK protocol and VOSK protocol of RFID system. In this paper, the security and privacy of protocols in RFID systems are studied and analysed to verify the effectiveness of the combination of mathematical induction and model detection. We design a (r,s,t)-security experiment on the basis of privacy experiments in the RFID system according to the IND-CPA security standard in cryptography, using mathematical induction to validate the OSK protocol and VOSK protocol. Finally, the following conclusions are presented. The OSK protocol cannot resist denial of service attacks or replay attacks. The VOSK protocol cannot resist denial of service attacks but can resist replay attacks. When there is no limit on communication, the OSK protocol and VOSK protocol possess (r,s,t)-privacy; that is to say they can resist denial of service attacks.

In this chapter, we discuss the business implications, as well as security and privacy issues, of the widespread deployment of radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. We first describe, in more detail, the components that make up an RFID system to facilitate better understanding of the implications of each, and then review the commercial applications of the RFID. We then discuss the security and privacy issues for RFID systems and what mechanisms have been proposed to safeguard these. The topics discussed in this chapter highlight the benefits of using RFIDs for user convenience in ubiquitous and pervasive commercial services and e-businesses, while maintaining the integrity of such systems against malicious attacks on the users’ security and privacy. This is vital for a business establishment to coexist with peers and remain competitively attractive to customers.

Security and privacy protection are very critical requirements for the widespread deployment of RFID technologies for commercial applications. In this chapter, the authors first present the security and privacy requirement of any commercial system, and then highlight the security and privacy threats that are unique to an RFID system. The security and privacy preserving protocols for RFID system proposed in literature are elaborately discussed, analyzing their strengths, vulnerabilities, and implementation issues. The open research challenges that need further investigation, especially with the rapid introduction of diverse RFID applications, are also presented.

Weak security of RFID system is concerned by more and more people because of the fast development of internet of things. Some existing RFID authentications protocols begin to be analyzed, such as Mutual three-pass authentication, randomized Hash-Lock, which has some problem of being difficult to resist a variety of network attacks such as forgery tag attacks and a new bidirectional security authentication protocol,A multiple security authentication protocol is proposed to overcome the disadvantage of being vulnerable to cyber attacks. Analysis shows that this approach is of good security and privacy, low cost, and high efficiency.

The security and privacy problem of low-cost RFID system is one of the most difficult conundrums in the RFID research field. A protocol based on access control was proposed in this paper, which used the reader access, partial ID, XOR operation, etc. By using of the reader authority distribution method, the unauthorized tag`s information was prevented give-away and it can avoid the lawful reader attack, location privacy attack, etc. Function of the reader was fully used. At the same time, the back-end database`s load and the time of the tag`s answer were reduced. Compared with several traditional security authentication protocols, this protocol is more security, lower energy consumption and more suitable for low-cost RFID system.
