A data warehouse are central repositories of integrated data from one or more disparate sources from operational data in On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) system to use in decision making strategy and business intelligent using On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) techniques. Data warehouses support OLAP applications by storing and maintaining data in multidimensional format. Multidimensional data models as an integral part of OLAP designed to solve complex query analysis in real time.

Voting irregularities and recount mechanisms used in Florida during the 2000 U.S. Presidential election have brought calls for re-vamped voting technologies and procedures. Many in both the public and private sectors have focused on the Internet as a possible underlying technology that could provide the ease, accuracy, and reliability a twenty-first century voting system should possess. Apart from the difficulties inherent in building an Internet based system from scratch, this solution ignores existing, proven technology, already in use by a majority of states, which could be adapted to provide a cost effective voting system with many desirable characteristics. The technology: computerized, on-line lottery systems. Inherently, these lotteries are transaction processing systems, which is what a voting system, at its base, is. Lottery systems are state based, handle vast quantities of transactions reliably, operate under an extremely high level of scrutiny, and are familiar to millions of Americans. This paper examines a lottery technology based voting system from several perspectives and develops an economic welfare analysis of a lottery technology based voting system.

Data processing can be roughly divided into two categories, online transaction processing OLTP(on-line transaction processing) and online analytical processing OLAP(on-line analytical processing). OLTP is the main application of traditional relational databases, and it is some basic daily transaction processing, such as bank pipeline transactions and so on. OLAP is the main application of the data warehouse system, it supports some more complex data analysis operations, focuses on decision support, and provides popular and intuitive analysis results. As the amount of data processed by enterprises continues to increase, distributed databases have gradually replaced stand-alone databases and become the mainstream of applications. However, the current business supported by distributed databases is mainly based on OLTP applications, lacking OLAP implementation. This paper proposes an implementation method of HTAP for distributed database CBase, which provides an implementation method of OLAP analysis for CBase, and can easily deal with data analysis of large amounts of data.

In data management, both system designers and users casually resort to performance evaluation. Performance evaluation by experimentation on a real system is generally referred to as benchmarking. The aim of this chapter is to present an overview of the major past and present state-of-the-art data-centric benchmarks. This review includes the TPC standard benchmarks, but also alternative or more specialized benchmarks. Surveyed benchmarks are categorized into three families: transaction benchmarks aimed at on-line transaction processing (OLTP), decision-support benchmarks aimed at on-line analysis processing (OLAP), and big data benchmarks. Issues, tradeoffs, and future trends in data-centric benchmarking are also discussed.
