The knowledge representation of the traditional artificial intelligence used different modeling methods and the different development tools, it led to the lack of interoperability between all kinds of knowledge, ontology solved the problem. Ontology, which is a model in semantic and knowledge hierarchy describing the concept and the relationship between the concepts, has been the focus of the field of artificial intelligence since it was proposed. This paper explored the knowledge representation based on ontology in the field of artificial intelligence, built the maize domain knowledge ontology, the result shows: ontology can effectively solve the heterogeneous problem of expression of complex knowledge, makes the computer to understand information for the semantic level, and benefit to develop the intelligent systems of maize.

The agricultural information on the internet become more and more, it is very difficult to search accurate related information from such different information, in order to improve the efficiency of information retrieval on the internet, the intelligent searching technology of agricultural information based on ontology is proposed. The paper firstly introduces research on the agricultural ontology and information retrieval, and takes agriculture domain knowledge as research object, analyzes the characters of agricultural domain knowledge and semantics retrieval, then uses the agricultural ontology to make the structure of agriculture ontology knowledge, and constructs the related agricultural knowledge ontology and knowledge base, implementing the intelligent searching of the agricultural information. The results indicate that the application of agricultural ontology technology in the agricultural information retrieval not only achieves the intelligent retrieval of agricultural information, but also greatly improves the accuracy and reliability of agricultural information retrieval.

Smart grid makes new request for the representation and application of power grid knowledge. To solve the problem of “information isolated island” caused by the continuous development of power grid and the ineffectively use of massive domain knowledge, ontology technology is introduced into the smart grid field. Each link of smart grid is analyzed and new request for knowledge it makes is introduced. Then a simple introduction of ontology and ontology modeling is made. Referring to the defects of existing ontology modeling methods and considering the specific reality of smart grid, an ontology modeling method suitable for the smart grid field is presented, which is aiming at providing guidance on ontology modeling of smart grid. Finally a modeling example is given which proves the feasibility and efficiency of the method.

The problem of creation of the domain knowledge ontology in education of future engineering teachers in branch of Information Technology is considered in the article. The ontology of Information System domain knowledge has been built. This enables to combine a huge amount of existing information into a single knowledge base that combines several disciplines. It has been shown in the process of investigation that Protege OWL programming product is the best for the creation of computer system ontology in preparing future engineering teachers and makes it possible to describe not only concepts, but also specific objects. It is based on a logical model that allows creating definitions of Information System domain knowledge of informal description. The structure and methods of building and using in future the ontology of Information System domain knowledge in the professional activity future engineering teachers in the area of computer technology has been studied.

Syntactic-semantic treebank for domain ontology creationThis paper focuses on the creation of a domain treebank for the purposes of compiling a domain ontology. The domain treebank is viewed as a suitable resource for extracting of semantic relations from syntactic structures. First, the steps for ontology building are considered. Then, the processing over glossaries and standards is described with regard to their syntactic annotation. The utility of deriving semantic knowledge from the Treebank is also illustrated via the basic phrases. The idea is that the domain knowledge is represented in the domain data, but via treebanking more linguistic patterns can be extracted, which to be mapped to concepts and relations in a domain ontology.

Complex domain occurs when a lot of knowledge overloads and knowledge trek phenomenon appeared with the raise of product complexity and the explosion of knowledge and information.  The knowledge content of complex domain is difficult to organize. One of the complex domain is Fingerprint Fingerprint Personality Solution. However, it is difficult to organize the knowledge of Fingerprint solution since it is a complex domain. Knowledge acquisition also a part of the problem because there is an only little number of Fingerprint certified trainer that expert in Fingerprint solution. The other circumstances are an Fingerprint solution also have the possibility to be extended in future. To solve the following problem, Structured Knowledge is used to structure the knowledge content that will be more effectively organize the content in order to enhance reusable and extendable of the knowledge model. Structured Knowledge contains a wealth information, it can effectively help to carry out the knowledge of the complex domain. There are many ways to express the structured knowledge, Ontology is one of them. In this paper will discuss the development of Fingerprint Ontology based on METHONTOLOGY approach.
