Reconstruction of high temperature melting compound steel slag-fly ash can be effectively digest f-CaO in steel slag. The experimental result shows that the f-CaO contents in modified slag is greatly affected by fly ash addition(respectively 5%, 7%, 14%) when the temperature is 1580°C and constant temperature is 30min, the digestion rates are respectively 56.99%,63.69%,68.55%. Modified mineral content of the steel slag changes greatly, mainly reflects at enormous increase in magnetite, dicalcium silicate, tricalcium silicate, wustite and vitreous. By micro-structure analysis of several kinds of modified slag mineral, tricalcium silicate mainly shape for branch of tree, dicalcium silicate is in the form of a circular, wustite and vitreous mainly distribute in aggregation state. The above minerals can increase cementitious activity for modified slag becoming cement.

Two RE-based quaternary metal chalcogenides EuCdGeQ4 (Q = S, Se) are discovered. They possess many attractive properties as preferred IR NLO materials including large band gaps, phase-matched intense SHG and congruent melting behavior.

ABSTRACTThe solidification of Si-As alloys induced by pulsed laser melting was studied at regrowth velocities where the partition coefficient is close to unity. The congruent melting temperatures, TO, of Si-As alloys were determined using a temperature measurement technique developed for this work, and were confirmed with TOmeasurements using three other methods. The time-resolved temperature measurement uses a thin-film platinum thermistor, below and electrically isolated from the Si-As alloy layer, to directly measure the temperature during solidification. This, combined with measurements of transient conductance of the Si-As alloy, time-resolved reflectivity and Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry, permitted the determination of the solid-liquid interface temperature, velocity and partition coefficient, the latent heat of fusion and TO for Si - 4.5 at. % As and Si - 9 at. % As alloys.
