This paper presents an over view of the "scaling strategy", in particular the role played by the counter part test methodology. The recent studies dealing with a scaling analysis in light water reactor with special regard to the VVER 1000 Russian reactor type are presented to demonstrate the phenomena important for scaling. The adopted scaling approach is based on the selection of a few characteristic parameters chosen by taking into account their relevance in the behavior of the transient. The adopted computer code used is RELAP5/Mod3.3 and its accuracy has been demonstrated by qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Comparing experimental data, it was found that the investigated facilities showed similar behavior concerning the time trends, and that the same thermal hydraulic phenomena on a qualitative level could be predicted. The main results are: PSB and LOBI main parameters have similar trends. This fact is the confirmation of the validity of the adopted scaling approach and it shows that PWR and VVER reactor type behavior is very similar. No new phenomena occurred during the counter part test, despite the fact that the two facilities had a different lay out, and the already known phenomena were predicted correctly by the code. The code capability and accuracy are scale-independent. Both character is tics are necessary to permit the full scale calculation with the aim of nuclear power plant behavior prediction. .

We report on a 28nm product prototype test vehicle assembled back-to-face with a 4Gb 3× nm Wide I/O DRAM chip using Through Si Stacking (TSS) technology. The high bandwidth interface of the digital chip to the wide I/O memory chip is enabled by ∼1200 μ-bump joints with pitch as small as 40μm allowing for wide memory bandwidth. With appropriate chip floor-planning, we demonstrate the mitigation of any impact to digital circuit performance and yield from TSS and the possibility to re-use 2D circuit IP in a 3D product with minimal die size growth. Our 3DIC assembly process allows for a compact form-factor package with <1mm thickness. As part of an integrated product solution, we include a test methodology with test stages distributed throughout the integration flow which allow for selection of known-good die to maximize assembly yield.

Aim. The search of adaptive response peculiarities to adverse environmental factors is an important condition of development of varietal technologies and control of adaptive potential of winter wheat varieties. Methods. The studies were carried out in accordance with the field test methodology. The wheat varieties of different types of growing, different genetic and ecological origins were studied. Results. In our studies, plasticity index (bi) of most winter wheat varieties was close to one and higher under various growing conditions. The yield advantage of a number of varieties was mainly in favourable weather conditions, and in unfavourable conditions yields were low. Varieties that are more resistant to stressful conditions (Askaniis`ka, Kuialnyk, Klarisa, Driada) were characterised by relatively low response to changes of growing conditions, their regression factor was less than one and kept reducing, their resistance to unfavourable conditions were increased. Conclusions. If severe stress limits in environmental conditions are expected, it is necessary to grow and use the winter wheat varieties with increased stability of yielding capacity in selection (Khersonska bezosta, Khersonska 99, Znakhidka odes`ka, Askaniis`ka, Klarisa (facultative). Objective: The objective this review was to identify the current range of shear bond strength values (SBS) that are clinically acceptable based on a synthesis of the studies published in 20 years that evaluated the SBS of brackets bonded to dental enamel with emitter diode light photo activators and whether damage to the enamel has been reported after the test. Methodology: A search strategy was developed for the selection of articles published from 1999 to 2019 in the PubMed/MedLine electronic database. In addition to reading the titles, keywords and summaries of the studies found, the studies were also obtained for the reading of the methodologies and identification of the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The search for scientific articles resulted in 580 studies, but only 14 were selected based on the pre-established criteria. Ten presented methodological quality to be included in this integrative review, and the mean SBS found was 14,05 MPa with a standard deviation of ± 6,52 MPa (range from 7,53 to 20,57 MPa). Conclusion: In conclusion, it was observed that the range of shear bond strength values (5,9 to 7,8 MPa) and taken as a parameter by most authors until now is outdated, since higher values of SBS are feasible without, however, causing dental enamel damage after the debonding of the bracket.

Abstract Some of the foundations of Heyes’ radical reasoning seem to be based on a fractional selection of available evidence. Using an ethological perspective, we argue against Heyes’ rapid dismissal of innate cognitive instincts. Heyes’ use of fMRI studies of literacy to claim that culture assembles pieces of mental technology seems an example of incorrect reverse inferences and overlap theories pervasive in cognitive neuroscience.

The first question to be answered, in seeking coordinate systems for geodynamics, is: what is geodynamics? The answer is, of course, that geodynamics is that part of geophysics which is concerned with movements of the Earth, as opposed to geostatics which is the physics of the stationary Earth. But as far as we know, there is no stationary Earth – epur sic monere. So geodynamics is actually coextensive with geophysics, and coordinate systems suitable for the one should be suitable for the other. At the present time, there are not many coordinate systems, if any, that can be identified with a static Earth. Certainly the only coordinate of aeronomic (atmospheric) interest is the height, and this is usually either as geodynamic height or as pressure. In oceanology, the most important coordinate is depth, and this, like heights in the atmosphere, is expressed as metric depth from mean sea level, as geodynamic depth, or as pressure. Only for the earth do we find “static” systems in use, ana even here there is real question as to whether the systems are dynamic or static. So it would seem that our answer to the question, of what kind, of coordinate systems are we seeking, must be that we are looking for the same systems as are used in geophysics, and these systems are dynamic in nature already – that is, their definition involvestime.

SummaryA routine has been developed for the processing of the 5820 plates of the survey. The plates are measured on the automatic measuring machine, GALAXY, and the measures are subsequently processed by computer, to edit and then refer them to the SAO catalogue. A start has been made on measuring the plates, but the final selection of stars to be made is still a matter for discussion.

Ultimate resolution in the scanning electron microscope is determined not only by the diameter of the incident electron beam, but by interaction of that beam with the specimen material. Generally, while minimum beam diameter diminishes with increasing voltage, due to the reduced effect of aberration component and magnetic interference, the excited volume within the sample increases with electron energy. Thus, for any given material and imaging signal, there is an optimum volt age to achieve best resolution.In the case of organic materials, which are in general of low density and electric ally non-conducting; and may in addition be susceptible to radiation and heat damage, the selection of correct operating parameters is extremely critical and is achiev ed by interative adjustment.

The importance of examining stained 1 to 2μ plastic sections by light microscopy has long been recognized, both for increased definition of many histologic features and for selection of specimen samples to be used in ultrastructural studies. Selection of specimens with specific orien ation relative to anatomical structures becomes of critical importance in ultrastructural investigations of organs such as the lung. The uantity of blocks necessary to locate special areas of interest by random sampling is large, however, and the method is lacking in precision. Several methods have been described for selection of specific areas for electron microscopy using light microscopic evaluation of paraffin, epoxy-infiltrated, or epoxy-embedded large blocks from which thick sections were cut. Selected areas from these thick sections were subsequently removed and re-embedded or attached to blank precasted blocks and resectioned for transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
