Modularized prefabricated steel structures have certain obvious advantages, i.e., rapid construction, industrial-scale production and pro-environmental aspects, and are the main method in industrialization of steel structures. Although applications of these structures have been reported all over the world, in most cases, the steel structural systems are only suitable for low-rise buildings, and their application in high-rise buildings is quite limited. This paper proposes a new type of modularized prefabricated high-rise steel frame structure with inclined braces. Based on the T30 hotel building, the mechanical properties, failure mode, failure mechanism and elastic-plastic development laws are investigated by using the elastic design of a structure under various load conditions, the analysis of the internal force and displacement responses under frequent earthquakes via the response spectrum method and linear time-history analysis, the static elastic-plastic pushover analysis under rare earthquake conditions. According to finite element simulations and testing, elastic and elastic-plastic structural design methods are proposed in this paper. This work provides an important reference for research and design of the same type of modularized prefabricated high-rise steel structures, and the design method has been compiled into design specification.

Modularized prefabricated steel structures have become the preferred design in the industrialization of steel structures due to their advantages of fast construction speed, high degree of industrialization, low labour intensity, and more. Prefabricated steel structures have some engineering applications, but all are low-rise structures with few applications in the field of high-rise buildings. Using finite element analysis with line and solid elements, full-scale experiments were conducted to study the single-span frame, which is the core load-bearing part of a modularized prefabricated high-rise steel frame structure with inclined braces. The mechanical mechanisms, computation methods, and design formulas of truss girders were obtained by comparing the finite element and model experiments and building a theoretical and experimental basis for the compilation of design codes. The mechanical characteristics under design load, the deformation and stress state, the elastic-plastic law of development, and the yield failure mode and mechanism under horizontal ultimate load were also obtained. Based on theoretical analysis, finite element analysis, and experiments, the design method of this frame was summarized and incorporated into the design code.

Most steel beam-column connections actually show semi-rigid deformation behavior that can contribute substantially to overall displacements of the structure and to the distribution of member forces. Steel frame structure with semi-rigid connections are becoming more and more popular due to their many advantages such as the better satisfaction with the flexible architectural design, low inclusive cost and environmental protect as well. So it is very necessary that studying the behavior of those steel frame under cyclic reversal loading. On the basics of connections experiments the experiment research on the lateral resistance system of steel frame structure has been completed. Two one-second scale, one-bay, two-story steel frames with semi-rigid connections under cyclic reversal loading. The seismic behavior of the steel frames with semi-rigid connections, including the failure pattern, occurrence order of plastic hinge, hysteretic property and energy dissipation, etc, was investigated in this paper. Some conclusions were obtained that by employing top-mounted and two web angles connections, the higher distortion occurred in the frames, and the internal force distributing of beams and columns was changed, and the ductility and the absorbs seismic energy capability of steel frames can be improved effectively.

<p>With the continuous development and progress of society, the structure of high-rise buildings has been paid more and more attention by the engineering community. However, the existing high- rise structure design methods often have a lot of redundancy and have a lot of room for optimization. Most of the existing seismic design methods of high-rise structures are based on engineering experience and manual iterative methods, so that the efficiency of design can not meet the needs of the society. if the method of design automation is adopted, the workload of designers can be greatly reduced and the efficiency of structural design can be improved. Based on the digital modeling theory, this paper proposes a MAD automatic design algorithm, in which the designer provides the initial design of the structure, and the algorithm carries out the modeling, analysis, optimization and design of each stage of the structure, and finally obtains the optimal structure. The structural design module of this algorithm starts from the component level, when the component constraint design meets the limit requirements of the specification, it enters and completes the component constraint design and the global constraint design of the structure in turn. In this paper, taking a ten-story braced steel frame high-rise structure as an example, the optimal design is carried out, and its seismic performance is analyzed. the results show that the MAD automatic design algorithm can distribute the materials to each part reasonably, which can significantly improve the seismic performance of the structure and realize the effective seismic design.</p>
