This article presents a case of a 14-year-old female twin with schizophrenia who developed severe catatonia following treatment with olanzapine. Under a combined treatment with amantadine, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and (currently) ziprasidone alone she improved markedly. Severity and course of catatonia including treatment response were evaluated with the Bush-Francis Catatonia Rating Scale (BFCRS). This case report emphasizes the benefit of ECT in the treatment of catatonic symptoms in an adolescent patient with schizophrenic illness.

Initially thought to be a primarily respiratory disease process, the hypercoagulable state associated with COVID-19 has been associated with myriad clinical sequelae. We report a case of stuttering ischemic priapism associated with COVID-19, and describe a management approach to achieve detumescence in patients undergoing ventilatory proning limiting penile access. Level of evidence: Not applicable for this single center case report.

Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disease presenting with areas of depigmentation. Recent reports suggest that Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors may be an effective therapy. In this case report, we show our experience with an adolescent patient with a long history of generalized and refractory vitiligo, for which treatment with topical tofacitinib, a JAK inhibitor, associated with phototherapy for 9 months, resulted in near complete repigmentation.

This report demonstrates a simple endodontic solution to an interdisciplinary case of a patient with multiple gene deficiencies. An adolescent patient presented with an impacted premolar that could not be extracted due to high-risk conditions. A suspicious degree of radiolucency around the crown was clinically diagnosed as dentigerous cyst. The treatment dilemma and implementation are discussed. This case report offers a different treatment option for impacted teeth when significant differential diagnosis of a pericoronal lesion dictates treatment.
