A new cluster model of α decay is proposed where the effective potential between α-cluster and daughter nucleus is obtained from the double folding integral of the renormalized M3Y nucleon-nucleon interaction and of the density distributions of α particle and daughter nucleus. Without introducing any extra adjustment on the potential, the new model (named as the density-dependent cluster model) can successfully reproduce the experimental half-lives of α decay within a factor of 3. The model also works well for new superheavy elements which are the current interests of nuclear physics and chemistry.

Research of thermonuclear reactions is a great interest to modern nuclear physics. In this connection, in this work, we investigated one of the main reactions of the pp-cycle within the framework of the cluster model. For calculations, we used one of the methods of the cluster model, namely, the algebraic version of the method of resonating groups in which the studied reaction of scattering of an alpha particle with 3He was disassembled and presented in the form of two interacting clusters. The modified Hasegawa-Nagata potential was also used, which describes the behavior of the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The aim of the research is to identify common patterns in coupled and resonant states. The main theoretical calculation of the studied resonance and coupled states was carried out using a special program "2cl_SpectrPhases.exe". The obtained theoretical results were compared with experimental data.

This paper presents a first investigation of the cluster production in nucleon – heavy nucleus collision in emulsion at cosmic ray energies (up to 1 TeV) following a model independent method proposed in a recent paper by Shivpuri and Gupta. It has been observed that the maximum charged pions constituting a cluster is three up to this energy and cluster characteristics are the same as in the case of nucleon–nucleon interaction in the same energy region.
