Abstract In the oil-water separation, the difficulty to recover and low hydrophobicity are key limitation factors for practical applications. In this paper, we design Cobalt ferrite hybird Polystyrene divinylbenzene microspheres (CoFe2O4/SDB), which were conducted through in-situ suspension copolymerization. The CoFe2O4 is prepared by low heat solid phase sol-gel method. It had been found that the CoFe2O4/SDB have a spherical structure, good adsorption behavior, highly hydrophobicity and even superhydrophobicity. The adsorption capacity of CoFe2O4/SDB composites could absorb kerosene up to 6 times of its own weight. Interestingly, kerosene can be easily separated from the surface of CoFe2O4/SDB particles with ultrasonic operation. CoFe2O4/SDB particles can still maintain good hydrophobicity and adsorption capacity of kerosene after 11 cycles after drying. With in situ polymerization of St、DVB and CoFe2O4, CoFe2O4/SDB as a promising absorbent of kerosene which has great potential in application of oil-water separation.

Y-type hexagonal ferrite (CaBaCo2Ga[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text]) was synthesized by sol–gel technique. The ferrite–polymer composites (1−x)CaBaCo2Ga[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text]+(x)polyaniline (x=0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1) namely PF1, PF2, PF3 and polyaniline (PANI) were synthesized by in situ polymerization. The synthesized samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, electrical and dielectric measurements, optical and magnetic studies. XRD pattern reveals a broad peak of polyaniline which is an indication of amorphous nature of PANI. Room-temperature resistivity increases from 2.14 × 101 [Formula: see text]cm to 2.78 × 10[Formula: see text]cm as ferrite content increases due to resistive behavior of the ferrite particles dispersed in the PANI matrix. The value of dielectric constant decreases at fixed frequency with increasing concentration of ferrite filler which is predominantly due to exchange of electrons between Fe[Formula: see text] and Fe[Formula: see text] ions that ultimately results in enhancement of electric polarization and conductivity. The optical bandgap increases with increasing amount of ferrite in the composites. The saturation magnetization and remanence increase with the increase of ferrite filler amount in PANI matrix whereas coercivity decreases. The decrease in coercivity and increase in saturation magnetization are related to Brown’s relation. The present nanocomposite samples may be the best candidates for electromagnetic shielding.

The BaFe12O19 nanoparticles was prepared by sol-gel method in different temperature (750°C,850°Cand 950°C), and then BaFe12O19/polyaniline nanocomposites was synthesized by in situ polymerization. The XRD, FTIR spectra, SEM and vector network analyzer were used to analyze the "" chemical component, morphology and microwave absorption property of the nanocomposites. The result show that BaFe12O19 can be generated at 750°C without any impurity ,and its size increased with increase of calcination temperature.BaFe12O19 nanoparticle was coated with polyaniline partially, and we can get it have interaction with polyaniline through FTIR spectra. While the ferrite calcined at 850°C,the thickness of the absorbing material is 4.5mm,the nanocomposites have the largest reflection loss of-17.6 dB at 6 GHz,and its reflection loss values less than−10 dB in the range of 5-7.4GHz.
