In this paper, a compact 8 way microstrip line Wilkinson Power Divider (WPD) is designed and proposed. The equal power divider con-sists of multiple multi-section WPD’s with isolation resistors. By utilizing the multi-sections concept, a remarkably increase in the band-width is observed. In the design process, RT 5880 substrate is used with the thickness of 0.8 mm and dielectric constant of 2.2 and loss tangent of 0.0004. The simulated results such as return loss, insertion loss and isolation are plotted by using ADS simulation software and obtained results show good agreement.

A 4 : 1 unequal Wilkinson power divider using microstrip artificial transmission lines (ATLs) is proposed. For the ATL, a series of meandered-line inductors, parallel-plate capacitors, and interdigital capacitors are employed. The designed power divider is composed of three ATLs, and a method has been proposed using technology of ATLs and double-sided parallel-strip lines (DSPSLs) to design line of high characteristic impedance. Microstrip line with very high characteristic impedance of over 150 Ω has been achieved by this method, which cannot be easily achieved by conventional transmission lines because of comparably thin conductor width. The fabricated 4 : 1 unequal power divider has good operational performance and occupies55.3 mm×37.8 mm, which is only about 40% of area compared to a conventional one at 0.9 GHz.

This paper deals with the design and simulation of unequal 5-way Wilkinson power divider used for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. The frequency range of operation intended for this design is 6 GHz to 18 GHz. The proposed Wilkinson power divider is designed on a low cost FR-4 substrate having height of 1.5mm, relative permittivity of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. The design occupies a size of 11mm x 33 mm x 1. 5 mm. Equal split Wilkinson power dividers are utilized for implementation of this design. High isolation has been obtained throughout the frequency range of 6 GHz to 18 GHz. The design procedure is discussed. The simulated results are presented by using ADS simulation software.
