In this study, an effort is made to model the thermal conduction and mass diffusion phenomena in perspective of Buongiorno’s model and Cattaneo-Christov theory for 2D flow of magnetized Burgers nanofluid due to stretching cylinder. Moreover, the impacts of Joule heating and heat source are also included to investigate the heat flow mechanism. Additionally, mass diffusion process in flow of nanofluid is examined by employing the influence of chemical reaction. Mathematical modelling of momentum, heat and mass diffusion equations is carried out in mathematical formulation section of the manuscript. Homotopy analysis method (HAM) in Wolfram Mathematica is utilized to analyze the effects of physical dimensionless constants on flow, temperature and solutal distributions of Burgers nanofluid. Graphical results are depicted and physically justified in results and discussion section. At the end of the manuscript the section of closing remarks is also included to highlight the main findings of this study. It is revealed that an escalation in thermal relaxation time constant leads to ascend the temperature curves of nanofluid. Additionally, depreciation is assessed in mass diffusion process due to escalating amount of thermophoretic force constant.

Rheology of MHD bioconvective nanofluid containing motile microorganisms is inspected numerically in order to analyze heat and mass transfer characteristics. Bioconvection is implemented by combined effects of magnetic field and buoyancy force. Gyrotactic microorganisms enhance the heat and transfer as well as perk up the nanomaterials’ stability. Variable transport properties along with assisting and opposing flow situations are taken into account. The significant influences of thermophoresis and Brownian motion have also been taken by employing Buongiorno’s model of nanofluid. Lie group analysis approach is utilized in order to compute the absolute invariants for the system of differential equations, which are solved numerically using Adams-Bashforth technique. Validity of results is confirmed by performing error analysis. Graphical and numerical illustrations are prepared in order to get the physical insight of the considered analysis. It is observed that for controlling parameters corresponding to variable transport properties c2, c4, c6, and c8, the velocity, temperature, concentration, and bioconvection density distributions accelerates, respectively. While heat and mass transfer rates increases for convection parameter and bioconvection Rayleigh number, respectively.

Walking performance is usually assessed by linear analysis of walking outcome measures. However, human movements consist of both linear and nonlinear complexity components. The purpose of this study was to use bidimensional multiscale entropy analysis of ultrasound images to evaluate the effects of various walking intensities on plantar soft tissues. Twelve participants were recruited to perform six walking protocols, consisting of three speeds (slow at 1.8 mph, moderate at 3.6 mph, and fast at 5.4 mph) for two durations (10 and 20 min). A B-mode ultrasound was used to assess plantar soft tissues before and after six walking protocols. Bidimensional multiscale entropy (MSE2D) and the Complexity Index (CI) were used to quantify the changes in irregularity of the ultrasound images of the plantar soft tissues. The results showed that the CI of ultrasound images after 20 min walking increased when compared to before walking (CI4: 0.39 vs. 0.35; CI5: 0.48 vs. 0.43, p < 0.05). When comparing 20 and 10 min walking protocols at 3.6 mph, the CI was higher after 20 min walking than after 10 min walking (CI4: 0.39 vs. 0.36, p < 0.05; and CI5: 0.48 vs. 0.44, p < 0.05). This is the first study to use bidimensional multiscale entropy analysis of ultrasound images to assess plantar soft tissues after various walking intensities.
