Annotation Purpose. Development of a program and methods for conducting experimental studies of the extrusion process with the definition of parameters and modes of operation of the extruder to improve its energy performance. Methods. Methods of mathematical statistics, synthesis, analysis, description and modeling were used. Results. The application of mathematical methods, in particular mathematical planning, reduces the number of experiments several times, and allows to evaluate the role of influencing factors, obtain a mathematical model of the process and determine the optimal conditions for its parameters and modes, etc. Conclusions. The methodology for experimental studies of a screw extruder is presented with the necessary equipment and methodology for processing the obtained experimental data. A mathematical method of planning, which reduces the number of experiments several times, allows us to evaluate the role of factors affecting productivity and energy intensity is presented. The urban fabric of the desert cities is based on the principle of reducing the impact of urban canyons on direct solar radiation. Here comes this research, which is based on a comparative study of the periods of direct solarisation and values of the solar energy of urban canyons via two urban fabrics that have different building densities, where the ratio between L/W is different. In order to obtain the real values of the solar energy (thermal, lighting), the test field was examined every two hours, each three consecutive days. The measurement stations are positioned by the three types of the relationship between L/W, (L≥2w, L=w, L≤0.5w). According to the results, we noticed and recorded the difference in the periods of direct solarization between the types of urban engineering canyons, reaching 6 hours a day, the difference in thermal values of air, reaching 4 °C, and the difference in periods of direct natural lighting, reaching 6 hours. It should be noted that the role of the relationship between L/W is to protect the urban canyons by reducing the impact of direct solar radiation on urban canyons, providing longer hours of shading, and reducing solar energy levels (thermal, lighting) at the urban canyons. This research is classified under the research axis (the studies of external spaces in the urban environment according to the bioclimatic approach and geographic approach). But this research aims to focus on the tracking and studying the distribution of the solar radiation - thermal radiation and lighting radiation - in different types of street canyons by comparing the study of the direct solarization periods of each type and the quantity of solar energy collected during the solarization periods.

The main goal of this study was to review current studies on the state of the art of wood constructions with a particular focus on energy efficiency, which could serve as a valuable source of information for both industry and scholars. This review begins with an overview of the role of materials in wood buildings to improve energy performance, covering structural and insulation materials that have already been successfully used in the market for general applications over the years. Subsequently, studies of different wood building systems (i.e., wood-frame, post-and-beam, mass timber and hybrid constructions) and energy efficiency are discussed. This is followed by a brief introduction to strategies to increase the energy efficiency of constructions. Finally, remarks and future research opportunities for wood buildings are highlighted. Some general recommendations for developing more energy-efficient wood buildings are identified in the literature and discussed. There is a lack of emerging construction concepts for wood-frame and post-and-beam buildings and a lack of design codes and specifications for mass timber and hybrid buildings. From the perspective of the potential environmental benefits of these systems as a whole, and their effects on energy efficiency and embodied energy in constructions, there are barriers that need to be considered in the future.

The common problem was studied concerning the personnel safety and the operation of railway transport during industrial cargo transportation. Statistical and technical analysis were conducted related to the conditions and reasons of railway accidents caused by various hazardous factors and occurred over the past 15 years in the mining industry of Russia. The study based on natural, technical, and organizational factors showed that there is a steady tendency towards the preservation of the number of accidents such as train collisions, fires, and derailments. Despite the measures taken, such accidents do occur resulting in fatal accidents. The situation is explained by the fact that safety of rail transport is conditioned by the factors that can be divided into difficult-to-control and complex (coordinated by action). The differences between complex factors caused by the railway technology and difficult-to-control factors, which include natural factors or their combination with the stimulated factors are studied in the article. Study of the evidence including the details of the development of fires and derailments of trains from the rails, the consequences of such accidents and conclusions about their causes shows that the additional calculations and classification of the difficult-to-control factors in combination with other causes allow to give a more detailed assessment of the nature of difficult-to-control factors and the interrelationship between them. Through this it becomes possible to detect the maximum number of violations. It is concluded that improving railway safety is possible only with a differentiated approach to the role of each group of factors including difficult-to-control factors, and the ability of personnel to influence the occurrence and development of accidents. The time characteristics of railway accidents are considered. The idea of automated information filtering of clogged messages in the analysis of accidents is formulated.
