Interaction of p-tert-butylcalix[n]arenes (n = 6, 8) with [TiX4] (X = F, Cl, Br, I) afforded 11 novel compounds with interesting structural features. The catalytic activity of these species in the ROP of cyclic esters was tested.

Novel Li-calix[n]arene complexes (n = 3, 4) having (–S–), (–SO–), (–SO2–), (–CH2OCH2–) or (–CH2–) bridges have been synthesized and fully characterized. Their catalytic activity in the ring opening polymerization of lactones has been studied.
