The effect of cup anemometer shape parameters, such as the cups’ shape, their size, and their center rotation radius, was experimentally analyzed. This analysis was based on both the calibration constants of the transfer function and the most important harmonic term of the rotor’s movement, which due to the cup anemometer design is the third one. This harmonic analysis represents a new approach to study cup anemometer performances. The results clearly showed a good correlation between the average rotational speed of the anemometer’s rotor and the mentioned third harmonic term of its movement.

This paper reports a novel kind of solid micro-gyroscope, which is called piezoelectric micromachined modal gyroscope (PMMG). PMMG has large stiffness and robust resistance to shake and strike because there is no evident mass-spring component in its structure. This work focused on quantitative optimization of the gyroscope, which is still blank for such gyroscope. A set of quantitative indicators were developed to optimize the operation mode and corresponding device size was obtained. By FEM, the harmonic analysis was conducted to find the way to efficiently actuate the operation mode needed. At last, the Coriolis analysis was conducted to show the relation between angular velocity and differential output voltage by the Coriolis force under working condition.

Kata kunci: Analisis harmonik; penyongsang bertahap This paper proposes an analytical method to predict the incidence and magnitude of harmonics of the output voltage of a five–level cascaded inverter. The cascaded inverter is subjected to a new modulation scheme, which uses multiple modulating signals with a single carrier. From the modulation scheme, mathematical equations that define the PWM switching instants are derived. In order to justify the merits of the proposed modulation scheme, harmonic analysis for the Fourier coefficients is outlined and calculated using MATLAB. An experimental five–level cascaded inverter test–rig is built and the new modulation scheme is implemented. The calculated and measured harmonics of the output voltage are compared and discussed. Key words: Harmonic analysis; cascaded inverter

Multilevel inverters are widely used for high power and high voltage applications. The performance of multilevel inverters are superior to conventional two level inverters in terms of reduced total harmonic distortion, higher dc link voltages, lower electromagnetic interference and increased quality in the output voltage waveform. This paper presents a single phase hybrid eleven level multilevel inverter topology with reduced switch count to compensate the above mentioned disadvantages. This paper also presents various high switching frequency based multi carrier pulse width modulation strategies such as Phase Disposition PWM Strategy (PDPWM), Phase Opposition and Disposition PWM Strategy (PODPWM), Alternate Phase opposition Disposition PWM (APODPWM), Carrier Overlapping PWM (COPWM), Variable frequency carrier PWM (VFPWM), Third Harmonic Injection PWM (TFIPWM) applied to the proposed eleven level multilevel inverter and is analyzed for RL load. FFT analysis is carried out and total harmonic distortion, fundamental output voltage are calculated. Simulation is carried out in MATLAB/SMULINK.

The third harmonic present in the voltage or current wave-form of a transformer is utilized for the heating of induction furnaces. The secondary power at 150 cycles is controlled with d.c. magnetization of the transformer core. The circuit used shows a different type of B-H curve. This paper explains how this magnetizing curve gives the variation of secondary voltage by changing d.c. control current.
