The Ruminative Thought Styles Questionnaire (RTS) conceptualizes rumination as repetitive, recurrent, intrusive, and uncontrollable thinking. This article outlines the development and validation of a Chinese language version of the RTS, the RTS-CH. Following independent translation, back translation, and final translation checking, the factor structure, convergent and divergent validity, and item-level congruence of the RTS-CH was examined and improved. The resultant scale showed equivalence to the RTS and had attractive psychometric properties. The RTS-CH is the first Chinese language rumination measure that does not have inherently negative or depressive content.

In the current article, the development and validation of a German-language version of the Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire (ICQ; Buhrmester, Furman, Wittenberg, & Reis, 1988 ) are described. The five-factor structure of the ICQ is confirmed by structure equation analysis and reliability is well documented (Cronbach's α = .72-.84). The validation is carried out using the NEO-FFI ( Costa & McCrae, 1992 ) as well as biographical data. In accordance with our expectations, we found positive correlations between the ICQ scales and the NEO-FFI scales of extraversion, conscientiousness, openness and agreeableness as well as negative correlations between the ICQ scales and neuroticism (NEO-FFI). Interpersonal competence, measured by the ICQ, is positively correlated with biographical items, which can have a beneficial influence on the acquisition of social competencies (nonauthoritarian, supportive educational style of parents; leadership in youth) or can be seen as a consequence of already formed competencies (extraverted interpersonal behavior in youth, current social integration and behavior).

I assessed the reliability and validity of a Chinese version of the Runco Ideational Behavior Scale (RIBS). I recruited 107 Taiwanese children (46 boys and 61 girls) for this study. The results indicated that the Chinese version of the RIBS is valid and reliable to some extent. A 2-factor construct was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis, which is congruent with the statistical observations in the original study by Runco and colleagues. Nevertheless, the major difference between the current and original studies is that, in order to attain measurement model validity, 6 items were dropped from the Chinese version of the RIBS. Overall, the results obtained in the current study indicate that this abridged Chinese-language version of the RIBS has promise for future use. Limitations and implications of the study are discussed.

Background. Objectivization of the characteristics of neuropathic pain is an important component of differential diagnosis in various diseases. Scales and questionnaires are topical diagnostic tools for assessing subjective symptoms for patients and health professionals.Objectiveto development and validation of the Russian version of the the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs Pain Scale (LANSS).Materials and methods. The study included two stages: linguocultural ratification and assessment of the psychometric properties of the developed Russian version.Results.The study showed a high level of reliability, validity and sensitivity of the developed Russian-language version of the scale. Conclusion. By the results of the study, the official validated Russian-language version of the scale is presented and recommended for use in work with Russian-speaking patients.
