Thiirane is usually synthesized by epoxy resin, and there are considerable content of epoxy mixed in thiirane because of the poor yields. In this article, a novel separation method was used to get pure episulfide compound and epoxy compound from thiirane/epoxy resin synthesized in our lab. Furthermore, the perfect 1H NMR spectra of pure episulfide compound and epoxide compound were obtained. The quantitative analysis of content of epoxy groups in thiirane/epoxy resin was performed by using FTIR and was testified by 1H NMR. It was found that the analytical results of the conversion of epoxy groups by the two methods above coincided with each other well.

AbstractIn this study synthesis and characterization of the new methacrylic derivatives of naphthalene-2,7-diol are presented. This reaction was performed in the three stages. In first stage 2,7-NAF was reacted with dimethyl sulfate in the NaOH solutions at 0°C. Next, the obtained 2,7-NAF.Me was modified by epichlorohydrine leading to epoxide compound (2,7-NAF.Me.EP). Finally, the reaction of opening oxirane rings by methacrylic acid was carried out. The chemical structures of all derivatives were confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR. Next, copolymerization reaction with methyl methacrylate (MMA), styrene (St) or divinylbenzene (DVB) was carried out. New monomer (2,7-NAF.MePM) possesses only one double bond and it can be used as a dopant in optical materials technology. The studies of their thermal properties were investigated by means TG/DTG/QMS coupled method. The influence of photoluminescence dopant on thermal stability of the obtained copolymers was also discussed.

ABSTRACT Powdered cellulose etherified to primary, secondary, tertiary, and combination of primary and tertiary carbons contains halide or an epoxide compound obtains Methylcellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (OH group replaced to OR) in presence of an alkali metal hydroxide in high pressure and thermal conditions, also produced to different grades where you played a viscosity parameter. Key Words: cellulose, alkali cellulose, etherfication.

Phenacyl triphenylphosphonium and p-nitrobenzyl triphenylphosphonium polymer bound salts with SbF6- counter ions, have been synthesized and examined as polymeric photoinitiators for the cationic photopolymerization of epoxide monomers such as cyclohexene oxide and vinyl monomers such as N-vinyl carbazole and p-methyl styrene. The polymeric phosphonium salts utilized as photocatalysts and were found to be easy to handle and stable when stored far from normal light. Reaction of the nonpolymerizable epoxide compound trans-stilbene oxide with the polymeric phenacyl phosphonium was investigated in dichloromethane solvent and found to gives diphenyl acetaldehyde.
