An expanded isoindigo unit (IBTI) has been incorporated into a donor–acceptor conjugated polymer for the first time. The PCE of the solar cell device based on the new polymer reached 6.41% with a fill factor of 0.71.

Two D–A copolymers PThTITI and PSeTITI were developed by copolymerizing a novel ladder-type building block TITI with thiophene (Th) or selenophene (Se). PThTITI:PC71BM and PSeTITI:PC71BM solar cells gave PCEs of 5.53% and 6.17%, respectively.

n-Type Co NWs/N2200 TENCs yield a high S, mainly from the semiconducting polymer, yet σ is limited by poor connectivity between inorganic and organic domains. By adding flexible n-doped SWCNTs to yield more conductive paths, σ and mechanical bendability are greatly enhanced.
