Описываются подходы к организации единого рабочего пространства исследователя для обработки геологической информации. Предложены подходы по взаимодействию с внешними территориально распределенными сервисами обработки и анализа геологических данных на основе WPS-платформы и по организации интегральной платформы для доступа к интерактивным облачным сервисам обработки геологических данных. Приводятся примеры облачных сервисов и платформ и сравниваются их основные характеристики. Описывается программная реализация предложенных подходов в рамках разрабатываемой информационноаналитической системы GeologyScience.ru. Приводится общая архитектура системы, и кратко описывается каждый из ее модулей. Описываются внешние сервисы, интегрированные в разрабатываемую платформу. The purpose of the study is to create an approach for organization of unified workspace for geological data research and processing. The study proposes approaches for organization of interaction with external geographically distributed processing and analytical services of geological data based on WPS platforms. Аn approach for integral platform organization providing access to interactive cloud processing of geological data is proposed. It connects the users with modern methods of data processing and analysis. A brief description of existing cloud services and platforms and comparison of their basic features is presented. Various groups of cloud services are described depending on the type of services provided to the user. Software implementation of approaches proposed within developing informational and analytical system GeologyScience.ru is addressed. The general architecture of the system and author’s modules developed including technological solutions used are described. A brief review of the services integrated into the platform being developed now is given. The use of the developed platform for processing and analyzing of geological data allows further expanding of capabilities of information-analytical environment developers to support scientific research.

The past few decades have seen a marked acceleration in the amount of marine observation data derived using both in situ and remote sensing measurements. For example, high-frequency monitoring of key physical-chemical parameters has become an essential tool for assessing natural and human-induced changes in coastal waters as well as their consequences on society. The number and variety of data acquisition techniques require efficient methods of improving data availability. The challenge is to make ocean data available via interoperable portals, which facilitate data sharing according to Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) principles for producers and users. Ocean DAta Information and Services (ODATIS) aims to become a unique gateway to all French marine data, regardless of the discipline (e.g., physics, chemistry, biogeochemistry, biology, sedimentology). ODATIS is the ocean cluster of the Data Terra research infrastructure for Earth data, which relies on a network of data and service centers (DSC) supported by the major French oceanic research organizations (CNRS, CNES, Ifremer, IRD, SHOM; Marine Universities). ODATIS, through its components, is involved in European and international initiatives such as Copernicus, SeaDataCloud, and EMODnet. The first challenge of ODATIS is to catalog all open ocean and coastal data and facilitate data collection and access (discovery, visualization, extraction) through its web portal. A specific task is to develop tools for handling large amounts of data and generate products for policymakers, practitioners, and academics. This study presents the strategy used by ODATIS to implement the FAIR and CoreTrustSeal requirements in each of its DSCs and promote adherence within the scientific community (the main data producer) regarding the upload and/or use of data and suggestion of new products. A second challenge is to cover the end-user needs ranging from proximity to the producer to cross-analysis of data from all Earth compartments. This involves defining and organizing a classification of DSCs in the network, which will be developed within the framework of the French Data Terra research infrastructure, the only framework capable of providing the necessary IT and human resources.

The Analytical Instrumentation Facility (AIF) is a laboratory composed of scientists and engineers specializing in the development and application of advanced techniques for materials characterization (http://spm.aif.ncsu.edu/aif/index.html)http://www.nice.org.uk/page.aspx?o=43210. AIF facilities include an extensive collection of analytical instrumentation utilized in teaching, research, and in support of academic and industrial programs. General forms of analysis include: electron, ion, and photon microscopies, surface science and analysis, and scanned probe microscopies. An abbreviated listing of AIF capabilities follows: metallography/sample preparation, optical microscopy, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS), Secondary Electron Microscopy (SEM), Scanned Probe Microscopy (SPM), Micro-Raman Spectroscopy, Focused Ion Beam Micro-machining (FIBM), Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES), and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS or ESCA).AIF is a resource utilized not only by those within NC State requiring analytical services, but also by a large number of North Carolina non-profit and industrial organizations as well as the Materials Community at large.
