It is commonly known that the neo-liberalism version of ongoing globalization is very likely to harmonize and standardize norms, values and finally cultural diversities. This process is said to be condition sine qua non for enhancing global competitiveness. Seen from this viewpoint the thesis of "one world economy", "one world society" and "one world culture" is logical and plausible. The question countries, especially a national economy lacking foundations for global competitiveness are actually facing is how and to which extent the national interest and identity can be conserved by means of pursuing its own globalization strategy. The Berlin Declaration by Kim Dae-Jung (2000) which created a momentum for reflecting on and seeking the national identity and interest of Korea may be understood as a realistic alternative for the globalization of Korea.

AbstractThe paper is a resumé of a research concerning depth description of the existence of keraton (karatuan = royal palace) in the middle of modern society focusing on the peoples’s perception on keraton. Today people think keraton merely a cultural centre for local people, not as a domain of an independently political power. Changes in world culture and global environment might be responsible for this point of view.To analyse the problem the author conducted a descriptive research method with qualitative approach. Data were collected from bibliographical study, observation, dan interviews. Some suggestions are proposed, such as the policies that should be taken by keraton in anticipating globalization. Revitalization should be made possible in maintaining the recent national identity without having to abandon old traditional values.

The article considers the impact of globalisation and national revival processes on the development of electronic music in Ukraine. It is shown that in the early stages of development (the late 1990s – early 2000s) Ukrainian electronic music is dominated by the focus on Western European music culture, and early festivals of dance electronic music (“The Republic of Kazantip”, “Ultrasonic”) also borrow Russian traditions, which indicates the predominance of globalization and peripheral tendencies in this area. At the same time, the first creative searches related to the combination of electronic sounds with the sounds of Ukrainian folklore are intensified. In particular, the article considers the works of the 2000s-2010s by O. Nesterov and A. Zahaikevych, representing folk electronics in the academic sphere, and works by Katya Chilly, Stelsi, Kind of Zero representing folk electronics in non-academic music. The aesthetic basis of such combinations was the musical neo-folklore of the last third of the XX century and the achievements of folk rock in the late 1990s. Intensification of these searches in the late 2010s, in particular the popularity of such artists as Ruslana, Onuka, Go_A allow us to talk about intensifying the national revival processes in the musical culture of Ukraine and involving Ukrainian music in the world culture preserving its national identity.

Lithuanian folk textile heritage is an important part of world culture heritage, on which various ideas and traditions are imprinted with the emphasis on the education of selfconsciousness of society and preservation of national identity. This paper deals with a complex analysis of Lithuanian national fabrics, the data of which have been collected by the authors’ abundant expeditions into Lithuanian rural territories. The current research presents the peculiarities of designs, colours and ornamentation of authentic woven textile manufactured since the middle of the 19th century up to now. The significance of this study is that it investigates only authentic textiles obtained from weavers or their relatives in Lithuanian villages, and the presence of these articles has been undisclosed up to now. This research presents collected, registered and investigated data concerning colours, ornamentation and patterns as expressive possibilities of designs of Lithuanian folk textile: dimai and pick-up fabrics. A review of the literary-epistolary anthology In France with Turgenev [S Turgenevym vo Frantsii], the article undertakes a problem analysis of its content, shedding a new light on Turgenev’s relationship with French authors, the scale of his personality, and the relevance of his cultural mission. Included in the work’s title, the idea of universal responsiveness was introduced to the daily cultural vocabulary by F. Dostoevsky and is viewed here in its relation to the concepts of cosmopolitanism, national identity, and cultural universalism. Turgenev’s universal responsiveness is treated as an opposing phenomenon to Russian messianism, namely, it is considered to combine national uniqueness with the willingness and ability to absorb world culture and become an integral part of it. It was Turgenev who not only succeeded in mediating between Western European and Russian culture, but also embodied pan-European cultural unity. While commonly recognized and repeatedly voiced by French cultural fi   res, this achievement remains little known and appreciated in Russia.

In the context of globalization and nation processes, the problem of preserving national culture, their traditions and customs as the titular nation is especially acute. Therefore, today one of the main tasks is the formation of national identity, including by means of folk dance. The main tasks and priority areas for the formation of national identity are determined by the State National Program "Education" (in the XXI century), which notes that national education is one of the main priorities, an organic component of education. National education is aimed at attracting citizens to the deep layers of national culture and spirituality, the formation of national worldview positions, ideas, views and beliefs in children and young people based on the values of national and world culture.
